Optimists Creed

Today we were sent back from Natalia's BEAR test. It seems someone forgot to give me the complete instructions, and I didn't ask. Since she has had a history of sensitivity to anesthesia everyone is extra careful. The instructions were very specific.
Nati's wasn't supposed to have had food or drink after 12pm. REALITY: She was on her continuous feed till 7am and had pear for breakfast
She also needed to be sleep deprived with only 6 hrs max of sleep and needed to be awake since 4 am. REALITY: She took a nap with dad since 5:30pm and didn't wake up till 5:30am. So we have to reschedule.
After this morning I decided to re-read the optimists creed. I seem to be re-reading this very often lately.. lol!!

PS. I posted this in English since the few people who've read my blog speak English and I haven't told anyone els about it... ;)

Promise Yourself:

To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind

To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.

To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.

To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.

To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

It can be tough right?

Hang in there! We did a few BEAR tests with David and I never felt like they got a really accurate test. He had hearing aides for a while and hated them. Finally we gave up and decided just to let him be. Maybe someday we'll look into it again, but for now he is thriving. Medical professionals will put a lot of pressure on you to do a lot of things and you have to figure out what is best for your family and for Nati. You are doing a wonderful job! And loving her well is the biggest part! xoxo

Oops! These things happen, never mind. We always had trouble with the sleep deprivation part of Ben's ABR test since it had to be done so far from home. Try keeping a sleep-deprived baby awake in a moving car for an hour!!

I'd never heard of the optimists' creed. What wonderful advice. I'm not a very good optimist.

BTW, your bilingual blog is very cool!

Lisa & Karen, thanks for your "chin up", I try to keep a light attitude towards these sort of things. What bums me out is that getting the logistics just right for these appointments is hard (me working full time and all).Sometimes I rant just to vent but I know how lucky we are to have access to these services. :D

Marissa, thanks for stopping by & reading about my little family.
